Low-E glass cuts glare

In colder northern areas, low-E coating left in the winter sun's heat, keeping the heat generated from inside the building.
The main reason for low emissivity glass has these advantages is that it reflects the sensible heat. Heat generated by hot water radiators or steam heat or hot air ducts, are examples of sensible heat. Low-E glass retains more of this heat inside other types of reflective glass. The amount of coating can be adjusted to different climates to provide optimal energy efficiency U-value.
The U-value
The measure of the rate of loss or non-solar heat gain through glass is called the U-value. Either alone or Full window glass (glass, frame and spacer materials IG units) may be of U-value. The lower the number of U-value, the greater the resistance a window to heat flow and better its insulating value.
