do crock pots, containing PTFE and / what part?
PTFE is a type of plastic or synthetic polymer called polytetrafluoroethylene or tetrafluoroethylene resin. PTFE coatings are sold under the trade names Teflon, Silverstone, Fluoron, Supra, Excaliber, Greblon, Xylon, and others. PTFE can be found at: heat lamps, ovens self cleaning, Crock pots, pans nonstick, etc, and are known to kill pet birds when heated.
Yes, PTFE superheated to kill birds. But I have at home crockpots no PTFE. I've never seen one that does (though perhaps it exists). It's in the pans, crockpots not. They are not self-cleaning ovens, either (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self_cleaning_oven), and I can not imagine why someone put a stick coating a heat lamp.
