What are the advantages and disadavantages hot-dip galvanized, PVC dipped, and finishing powder coated iron pipe? What kind of metal suits for use outdoors?
If you are looking for long term outdoor duty then repainting will be needed regularly. A PVC coating will be difficult painting, and will have to undress. Is apparently a problem? Galvanizing is gray, so if you want a different color you will need to purchase paint and painting when what would be good for several years without painting. Powder coated or enamelled can give you the color you want, for starters, but may be more expensive than galvanized.
