Which is better on a motorcycle, real chrome metal, chrome or plastic?

chromium metal real disadvantages: # 1 hard to clean and keep clean # 2 heavy and adds weight to a motorcycle # 3 may become a dangerous projectile in a crash. disadvantages of plastic chrome I can not think of any?

The benefits only to the pieces of plastic, chrome or other is the weight and cost of mass production. Also with a good amount of work that can manufacture almost any piece of metal in his garage. Not so easy with plastic parts.
